DSA Thickness Interpolation

This interactive tool not to be used for real-world applications.

This tool is a "proof of concept" for estimating Deep Strength Asphalt (DSA) composition for various traffic loadings, subbase thicknesses and CBR values. This is not mechanistic software and not intended for real world applications. A parametric analysis (subgrade CBR, CTCR thickness, Type SI thickness) was calculated in mechanistic software for a Type H, Type SI, Type SF, CTCR, Class 4 Subbase composition. The CDF was calculated for the Type SF material (assuming this is failure mechanism) at 5.0 x 10^7 ESA traffic loading. The traffic loading was then divided by CDF to estimate traffic loading for CDF=1. When the ESA slider is moved, the tool simply interpolates the SI thickness from the parametric analysis tables, giving a ball-park pavement composition. Note that the tool gives impractical Type SI thicknesses less than 60mm, once again this is not a design tool.

Asphalt parameters are as per Vicroads RC500.22 for 10 km/h and 24 degrees celsius. CTCR is 500MPa post-cracked. Subbase as 150MPa Class 4. Reliability Factor 95%. Have fun.
