This tool is a "proof of concept" for estimating Full Depth Asphalt (FDA) composition for various traffic loadings and CBR values. A parametric analysis (subgrade CBR, Type SI thickness) was calculated in mechanistic software for a Type H, Type SI, Class 4 Subbase composition. The CDF was calculated for the Type SI material (assuming this is failure mechanism) at 5.0 x 10^7 ESA traffic loading. The traffic loading was then divided by CDF to estimate traffic loading for CDF=1 given mechanistic software assumes linear damage. When the ESA slider is moved, the tool interpolates in log space the SI thickness from the parametric analysis tables, giving a ball-park pavement composition. Once again this is not a design tool. It is illustrating a concept.
